Today, while the rest of the state sweated it out in the grips of a heatwave I was transported to a little town on the banks of a great river to visit some friends I remember from my childhood.
I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon as I was channel surfing to find the the 1973 classic film Tom Sawyer was showing. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was little, and I can't believe how excited I got when the opening credits started to roll. I was sucked right in. I remembered the music, the characters, Jodie Foster, and I still got a chill every time Injun Joe came on the screen.
It's funny how a little thing can make your day.
